Who we are

Innovative semiconductor and system solutions for sensors, motion and light: iC-Haus provides its customers with decisive competitive advantages in industrial, automotive and medical applications. iC-Haus develops and manufactures both application-specific standard products and customer-specific integrated circuits according to your specifications.
As a proven specialist for highly integrated analog and mixed-signal circuits, iC-Haus’ solutions enable the simple use of iCs in highly complex, world-class applications, e.g. in time-of-flight products or in encoders and motor feedback systems.

Founded in 1984, iC-Haus has become a leading independent manufacturer of magnetic and optical encoder iCs for position sensing applications worldwide. Laser diode drivers and components for industrial sensor communication are further focal points. With BiSS, iC-Haus has even created a globally established open-source standard interface for digital real-time communication between sensors, actuators and controllers.

What we do

Our technology offering includes mixed-signal CMOS, power BCD, and high-voltage and bipolar processes. With optional photosensitive or Hall structures, we can develop monolithic microsystems with integrated sensors.
In addition to standard plastic packages, we are able to manufacture and test custom modules based on PCBs or flex PCBs in our own backend packaging line.
Zero-defect quality is a top priority for iC-Haus products. Device handling and testing is highly automated, with utmost care and accuracy over a wide temperature range to ensure 100% delivery quality and absolute reliability in the final application.

How we do it

The company’s success is based on continuous R&D activities and first-class technical support for our customers during the integration of our products into their application. Numerous patents and awards testify to the lived culture of innovation. For example, iC-Haus is the winner of the Rhineland-Palatinate Innovation Award 2017 for the EncoderBlue® position sensor and won the AMA Innovation Award 2012 for an Energy Harvesting Multiturn Encoder. With our products, that combine millions of switches on an area smaller than a fingernail, we make the world a little safer, smarter and more efficient every day, many million times a year.

Our headquarters in Bodenheim, located in the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main metropolitan area, combines state-of-the-art production facilities, office space and a clean room for backend packaging. We prove our claim to quality, performance and delivery reliability every day and supply the most demanding customers worldwide. Of course, iC-Haus is ISO 9001 certified and we support our customers with the appropriate documents and certificates for safety and automotive applications.

    BiSS Interface

BiSS is an – Open Source – digital interface for sensors and actuators. BiSS is hardware compatible to the industrial standard SSI (Serial Synchronous Interface) but offers additional features and options.
The BiSS Interface was introduced by iC-Haus as an Open-Source interface in 2002. The BiSS User Group was officially set up by formation of the BiSS Association e.V. in 2017 which pursues the BiSS Interface platform as an independent society. The BiSS protocol is published in all details as Open-Source and follows GPL-rules (General Public Licence).
